the stars are out tonight

I was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and as I'm having a difficult time describing how I feel about that... this is my response to the whole mess. I'll be okay; it's curable, common, and the doctor said prognosis was good. But... it's still going to be rough. Going in for surgery next week (we think), and then further treatment. This isn't meant to be angsty or depressing... I think it would be very relaxing to lie under the stars right now...
